An ardent supporter of Yoga Therapy from its inception, Maureen Deering Davis had the honor of being part of the first class offered by Loyola Marymount University. Yoga Therapy is a means of adapting yoga to those who have health issues. By following a prescribed customized plan of breathing exercises, positions, and meditation techniques, patients struggling with high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, neurological disorders, auto immune diseases, and certain cancers, are able to find both physical and emotional relief. In her sessions Maureen takes an integrative approach, incorporating mindset coaching as well. During her five show series, Maureen with be discussing this further.

In addition to her work as a yoga therapist, Maureen has developed her own “Chair Yoga” DVD at the request of the USC Clinical Diabetes Program, and a guided relaxation meditation CD entitled Yoga Nidra. Her Chair Yoga DVD was later distributed on a global level by the National Association for Diabetes as part of their “Look Ahead”. Maureen’s dedication and expertise was honored during the YOGA RX tenth anniversary, where she was awarded with an Outstanding Achievement Award.
